It’s so gorgeous, and I’m humbled to have actually spent nearly a year collectively in the Algarve! *pinch me*

There are tons of things to do in the Algarve area, and all of them offer up some jaw-dropping scenery as a little bonus. Let’s go!

The waves are a bit bigger and rougher than the waves I’ve been on in Ecuador, Morocco, Mexico, and Indonesia

But there are some areas that are kinder to beginners/fraidy cats, and of course, you can always take a lesson (recommended unless you have experience)!

You’ll no doubt realize pretty quickly that the Algarve is an action-packed region. But when you’re ready to chill out in a cool town, there’s no better place than Sagres.

Located on the Algarve’s western tip, Sagres is pretty remote, which is just part of the allure here.

Praia da Luz, or, Beach of Light, is a beautiful beach near Lagos, though it’s definitely a destination in its own right.

The fine, golden sand beach is worth the journey alone, but add in a long, palm-lined esplanade and a selection of charming beach cafes and restaurants, and you’ve got one of the best things to do in the Algarve.

Try a dolphin watching experience by boat for things to do in Algarve.
