Extremadura Digital Nomad Grant
A Spanish region pays remote workers to move there and stay two years.
Catch: You move first, then apply. And taxes? That’s gonna be a whole thing. Talk to a pro.
Closed for Maintenance
The Faroe Islands close some tourist spots each spring and let volunteers in to fix trails.
Catch: Way more people apply than there are spots, and you pay your own flights.
NALCAP Language Assistants
Spain’s government places you in public schools as an English assistant, November to May.
Catch: You don’t pick your region. Placements go by application number, so apply early.

myTEFL 120-Hour TEFL Course
The cert most teach-abroad jobs ask for. Fully online, at your own pace, with job placement help after.

Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
A five-year visa with 180-day stays per entry for remote workers.
Catch: No Thai clients or Thai employers. You apply online from outside Thailand.
Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte)
Move to Germany and job hunt for up to a year. No job offer needed.
Catch: There’s a points system, and getting your degree recognized takes homework.
Work and Holiday Visa (462)
Live, work, and travel in Australia for up to a year.
Catch: The age limit is strict. Apply before you turn 31.
Offshore Islands Renovation Grant
Ireland pays to fix up empty homes on its offshore islands.
Catch: It’s a renovation grant, not a visa. You buy the house first, and most of the money comes after the work.
