So when I say a beach is damn good, it’s pretty damn good. Here are 10+ must-visit beaches in Portugal’s Algarve:

1. Praia do Amado
Large waves, sandy shores, and a hotspot in the Algarve surf scene. Even if you’re not hopping in the water, come over and hang out!

2. Praia do Castelejo
This isn’t the most popular beach, which is a good thing! Beautiful rocks and clear water for surfing.
Surf and fish while being surrounded by schist black cliffs.
3. Praia do Beliche
Golden sand beaches and incredibly blue waters surrounded by untouched nature. While the surf is popular, there’s plenty of room to share.

4. Praia da Mareta
A sandy bay right in the town of Sagres. It gets a bit busy but is still a great beach to visit.
Beach bum and possibly surf. The surf isn’t the greatest but it’s easily accessible.

5. Praia das Furnas
A bit hidden and difficult to find, but it’s a massive beach you’ll likely have to yourself. Popular with nudists and the best beach in the Algarve for solitude.
6. Praia da Luz
A soft sand beach with staggering cliffs and beautiful views. It’s a popular spot with summer vacationers and offers something for everyone.

7. Praia de Dona Ana
