1. Visit Three Marys Cays
Three Marys Cays is a chill spot known for its picturesque limestone rocks sitting in crystal-clear waters.
This area is perfect for a relaxing picnic, a casual swim, or some light snorkeling. While not as famous for snorkeling as Providenciales, it still offers a beautiful underwater view.
2. Spot Flamingos at Cottage Pond
Nearby, Cottage Pond is a must-visit for birdwatchers, offering the chance to spot flamingos!
The pond is a short drive from the cays and is surrounded by lush greenery. Just remember to bring bug spray—mosquitoes love this spot as much as the birds do.
TIP: Most people will say to spot flamingos at the Flamingo Pond Overlook, but you’ll need binoculars for that. We liked this pond better, they are much closer.
3. Snap Pics at Horse Stable Beach Pier
Horse Stable Beach is a hidden gem that you’ll likely have all to yourself. Known for its scenic pier, this spot is a photographer’s dream.
The beach is ideal for a peaceful stroll, though swimming here can be risky due to strong currents and rip tides.
Bring a snack, your camera, and plenty of sunscreen to enjoy this peaceful slice of Middle Caicos. It’s a fantastic stop on your way to other attractions in the area.
4. Become Castaways at Mudjin Harbor and Dragon Cay
Mudjin Harbor is the crown jewel of Middle Caicos, offering dramatic cliffs, a pristine beach, and the iconic Dragon Cay. A sandy path leads you through a cave-like overhang to a picturesque white sand beach.
During low tide, you can walk across a sandbar to Dragon Cay for even more spectacular views.

5. Grab a Bite to Eat at Mudjin Grill
After exploring, stop by Mudjin Grill for a fresh seafood lunch overlooking the harbor.
Don’t forget to hike up the nearby cliffs to work off your lunch and for panoramic views that will take your breath away.
6. Explore Indian and Conch Bar Caves
Middle Caicos is home to fascinating cave systems that are well worth exploring. Indian Cave offers a mystical experience with tree roots hanging dramatically into the cave. It’s easily accessible and free to visit.
For a more traditional cave experience, head to Conch Bar Cave. With stunning stalactites and stalagmites, this cave is a must-see. Guided tours cost $20 per person and provide fascinating insights into the cave’s history and geology.
7. Beach Bum at Bambarra Beach
Bambarra Beach is a quintessential Caribbean escape, featuring calm, shallow waters and a laid-back atmosphere. The colorful beach shacks serve snacks and drinks, adding to the charm of this secluded spot.
Bring a towel and soak up the sun while sipping on a refreshing beverage.
If you’re feeling adventurous, walk out to the small cay during low tide. It’s farther than it looks, so bring water and wear proper footwear.
Where to Stay
You don’t have THAT many options. But if I were you, I’d stay at Dragon Cay Resort. You’ll have views of Mudjin Harbor, which is arguably the coolest thing between the two islands.

How to Explore Middle and North Caicos
While exploring these islands, you have two main options: book a guided tour or rent a car.
Guided tours take the stress out of planning and let you sit back and enjoy. Alternatively, ferry over and pick up a rental car on the other side to explore at your own pace.
We booked at Caribbean Cruisin the day before. They booked us the ferry over and a car rental, which was waiting for us when we disembarked at North Caicos.
TIP: Some road conditions can be rough, so drive cautiously!
